I’ve been really refraining from making any of those typical “Sorry I haven’t updated” posts–and believe me, it’s been a struggle–but Jeezum if I haven’t had a hard time getting back into the swing of blawging after my thesis hiatus. But the worst part about those apologies is that they assume there’s some vast audience just clamoring for new content from some unknown artist, and then feeling disappointed every day when there isn’t.
Anyhow, lately I’m catching up on projects I’ve wanted to get to since back in May, but you’ll see them when they’re ready. Meantime, did you know that a little-big con happened not long ago? Called SPX? Did you know that sweetheart Rob Clough said I was an artist to seek out there? Gahd, what a doll he is. He’s also reviewed my latest comics.
Well in other news, I’ve scanned a buncha doodles from the past year, but I’m not sure how I’ll present em to yizzall (here’s one for now –> ). Still got another big stack more to scan, so really, at least I shouldn’t be lacking in visuals on here for a while. Trynna get back in that weekly swing of things.
Also trynna remember how to get things done without a deadline…to be honest, trynna learn it. My secret thus far has always been to actually impose deadlines, for posting things online or bringing things to a convention, or what-have-you. Or to go to school. Maybe I’ll start promising comics to you, dear The Internet. Howzzat? After all, I really haven’t kept you up-to-date with what I’ve drawn over the last year. Why did this just occur to me now??

You guys, I know. It’s been a while. And I was really starting to feel like I was being withholding, but then I noticed a slew of blogs that started out something like, “Oh, I know I’m always apologizing for not posting anything in a while, but anyway, sorry for not posting anything in the while! But, you know. Holidays!” So you won’t hear it here. That’s my sterling guarantee.
Above are some trees and a monster’s bird head that I doodled at an exhibit of Dürer prints at the Clark. It happened a long time ago. Okay, so I might have some blogger’s guilt about not posting these more in-the-moment. You imaginary internet people and your insistence on timeliness! As I was saying, Andy Warner, Kate LaRocca,* Jon Fine and I took a day trip down to Williamstown, Massachusetts back in, I don’t know, November. We saw this lovely, lively show of the Northern Renaissance master’s woodblocks, and a few etchings. We also drove through some spectacular New England scenery, with billowing clouds and shafts of light dappling the hillsides. Yeah, that’s right. I said it. Landscapes!!
I’ve got another page from our drawing adventure that I might or might not post. It also occurred to me that this might qualify as a Drawing Adventure.
*Does anybody have some up to date internet location for her? I’m only finding broken links. <3

Dear Blogfriends,
Those of you with Blogger accounts using the newer commenting system, I’m trying to write on your posts, really I am! For some reason, nothing happens when I post selecting a Google ID or a Wordpress.com ID. I noticed at least one of you (I think Jen/Devon) also had an option to just put in my name, email, website manually, and that worked. The rest of youse, I really want to give you feedback and toss up some comedic gems, but it just ain’t happening for some godawful reason.
Speaking of gods being awful:
