Today, a mere week after receiving notice that an automatic loan payment had been returned due to insufficient funds, thus adding a fee from each the bank and the loan company to my mountain of debt, I say to you that today! I got a letter from my former, different bank offering me a credit card with all sorts of introductory deals! I suppose my checking account that hovers around zero makes me a special person to them!
It reminded me of my favorite New Testament story, wherein Jesus finds moneylenders doing business in the Temple at Jerusalem and…

HE SMASHES THE SHIT OUTTA THEIR TABLES!!!
And then I read about how the Teabaggers react to all this stuff and it made me scared of having to fight a civil war with them. But really, if they can all get together in a couple of landlocked states and secede, why stop ‘em?

It’s great to be back at CCS, where people love comics, beer, pot, soccer, and Mario Kart. What can I say, I’m flying around in a fuckin fantasyland! Although, that ol’ demon money keeps tugging at me like some sort of devilish ballast and crashing me back to reality! The less you have, the more it ways you down. Oakley Hall’s Landlord is my anthem. It’s about how Pat “Papa Crazy” Sullivan’s great-great-grandfather murdered his landlord, and then bucked the system by sewing an iron collar into his shirt so he wouldn’t die when he was hanged. And how that same Irish anger is flowing in Crazy’s veins today and he wonders if his landlord really wants the rent so bad? Love it so much.
And speaking of songs I love so much, I think its hilarious to think about any of the Jim Steinman Meatloaf lyrics literally. Such fraught, overwrought metaphors! Like this one.

As it turns out, the bus ride I described to you last week was in some ways better than the two others that followed – at least it didn’t involve standing outside Penn Station in a mosh pit of Marylanders for three hours. Fingers crossed on that continental high-speed rail network Barrack put some money aside for! Yeah, right.
Speaking of buses…

Oy. Did I let another week slip by without posting anything? What kind of blog is this, anyhow? Lots has been going on. Buddy Colin and I are exquisite corpsing a comic for our table at MoCCA Fest (which is coming right up on June 6th, by the by). Oy vey ismir! Did I just say June 6th? I’ve got to print up my comics before then! To back up a thought, going back and forth on a comic is so much fun. I’d love to get a group of us passing things around in a circle some day and making up hilarious stories.
What else, what else? I sent in my application for cartoon school this past Saturday. But oy gevalt, I think I’ll have to wait a year even if they’re begging for me to come. Du-udes! I need to get some scholarships! They don’t have federal accreditation yet, so I’ll have to put the whole tuition on a private loan. I’ve got to try to lessen the burden a bit, nais pas? In the meantime I’m hoping to get laid off and live off the social safety net for a while – omg, jaykaying!…sort of. Odds are looking up since the copier is empty after 8:00 every night.
Leaf Boy!
